have a Fall maintenance checklist to follow. \u00c2\u00a0If you have a larger property, that just means there will be more to do on yours. \u00c2\u00a0I find that breaking your tasks into categories will help you prioritize your workload and eliminate potential problems before they come up.<\/h2>\n<p><!--more-->Here&#8217;s mine:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>House<\/li>\n<li>Vehicles\/Equipment<\/li>\n<li>Driveway<\/li>\n<li>Woodlot<\/li>\n<li>Lawn\/Garden<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I consider each of these groups equally important. \u00c2\u00a0They are going to take about the same amount of my time overall, and they will each have tasks that take upwards of a day, or as little as 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<h1>Here&#8217;s how I get started:<\/h1>\n<p><strong>House<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Check the integrity of your roof. \u00c2\u00a0<a title=\"Temporary roof repairs broken down. \" href=\"http:\/\/uncityslicker.com\/?p=57\" target=\"_blank\">Even If there aren&#8217;t any visible leaks, something still might be up. <\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Clean and repair any cracks in your chimney. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Caulk around any doors and windows. \u00c2\u00a0Install or replace damaged weather stripping to seal out drafts. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Have your furnace serviced. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Repair or patch any damaged masonry to avoid ice damage. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Vehicles\/Equipment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Change the engine oil in anything that is going to run in the cold. \u00c2\u00a0Follow any manufacturer&#8217;s recommendations. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Prep your snow moving equipment for any upcoming weather. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Winterize anything you won&#8217;t be using and put it in storage. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Make note of any projects to be built or repairs to be made inside over the winter months. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a title=\"Add fuel stabilizer to keep your equipment running smooth.\" href=\"http:\/\/uncityslicker.com\/?p=138\" target=\"_blank\">Add stabilizer to fuel if necessary<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Driveway<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Identify the causes of and fixes for common driveway damage.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Grade your gravel driveway to prevent damage in the winter and spring.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Make sure your drainage ditches and culverts are in good working order. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Install markers to make snow removal easier and safer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15.6px;\">Get your mailbox ready for winter. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Woodlot<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do a walkthrough to asses the condition of your woodlot. \u00c2\u00a0Update or create a forest management plan.<\/li>\n<li>Check trail condition and drainage systems to ensure access in the spring.<\/li>\n<li>Cut and <a title=\"Basic Log Skidding\" href=\"http:\/\/uncityslicker.com\/?p=126\">skid<\/a> any timber that you intend to season for the following year.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and stack your firewood for winter.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage any small or large game on your property.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Lawn\/Garden:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prune any trees that are overgrown or need reshaping.<\/li>\n<li>Prep your vegetable garden for next year&#8217;s crop.<\/li>\n<li>Plant any perennials that need to go in the ground in the fall.<\/li>\n<li>Bring any <a title=\"Herbs, not herb. \" href=\"http:\/\/uncityslicker.com\/?p=5\">herbs<\/a> or warmer weather plants inside before the first frost.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Composting 101\" href=\"http:\/\/uncityslicker.com\/?p=41\" target=\"_blank\">Turn your fall cleanup into summer vegetables<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;ve completed a few of these tasks so far, but I still have a lot ahead of me. \u00c2\u00a0I&#8217;ll
